This was our second visit to this great local restaurant, a real gem in an unexpected location. I liked the nice touches such as a jug of fresh water brought without being asked for. The chef (owner?) came over and spoke to us at the end of the evening and explained a mystery ingredients we'd been puzzling over - it was deep fried slices of lotus root, like crisps.
If you are anywhere near Highbury / Finsbury park, you must check out this place.

Gentle and styled music made it possible to have a conversation while awaiting what proved to be a lush dinner for us all. Chef came out to see all was well. No pressure from course to course or at end. Very well priced too.

My party of four had the £17.95 two-course Sunday lunch. We had four different starters and four different main courses. Excellent quality, ingredients and presentation. After that we just had to add the dessert for only another £2.00. Again excellent quality. We would definitely return.

We chose this as we wanted a nice, reasonably priced, ambient restaurant for Valentine's. It did not disappoint. Wonderful food, great service and a simple decor, yet elegent restaurant. Will definitely bo going again!

Forget Upper Street, head over to Highbury Park for this absolute gem! High quality produce, prepared with flair and imagination to create the finest food. Rob the head chef is totally committed to his art and it shows in all his work. Great value too. It's a must and you will return as the menu has so much to offer
